Traditional Bavarian costume for women is dirndl. If you visit Oktoberfest, you will see many of them there – they will come in different patterns, designs and length. Women are the ones, who decide what they want to reveal and what they want to hide from the curious men eyes.
The Noh Nee store – a place where you get unique looking dirndls
As soon as I found out that Simon and I are visiting Oktoberfest, I was dreaming about wearing a dirndl. It did not take long, when I got a note from the German National Tourist Board, that they found one for me.
All I knew about the dirndl was, that it comes from a Noh Nee store. I did some research and realized that this dirndl is not an ordinary one. Noh Nee is a brand of a famous designer from Munich, who is well known among locals and everyone in the fashion industry.

Before I was going to Oktoberfest with one of their dirndls, they wanted me to come a day earlier, to try them out. I immediately knew, they are very professional and wanted that their dirndl looks good on me. As soon as I stepped into their store, one of the owners, Cornelia, welcomed me with opened arms. The trying out has begun, as we were looking for the perfect fit.

Clothes off and dirndls on, buttons here, zippers there… It is not as easy as it looks, I am telling you! But it was worth it, as at the end we found the perfect match! We all smiled and said in one voice – that’s the one! It suited me as it would be made especially for me.

Noh Nee dirndls are not only special because they are designers’ dirndls. If you have not noticed, they have completely different patterns from the traditional ones. I must admit that wearing it felt great indeed and not only because of its African style, all the hand work and its decorations. Honestly told I am not used to wear something so special and I wanted that Noh Nee is proud on me. After all, their prices start at 780 EUR.

I am honored that someone like Noh Nee took time for me and trusted me with their work. I did wear it proudly, but carefully. One part of me was screaming from the excitement and joy. Noh Nee dirndl did an amazing job changing my daily outfit (jeans and a t-shirt). Even Simon looked impressed.
