Tourist attractions in Munich are for all tastes

Food in Munich

If you are into good and strong traditional food, you will love Munich. Everything turns around pork meat, sausages, roasted potato and dumplings. Eating few days like the locals, you will feel so full, that you will want to go on a diet straight away you reach home. Funny enough, no matter how full you will feel, you will always have (or better said, you have to have) space for home-made “apple strudel”. Don’t forget on a glass of good local beer or a freshly baked pretzel as a snack between meals.

Accommodations in Munich

You can always visit Munich as a day trip, but we would not recommend it. There is just so much to do here that you need at least few days for the exploration. We would say 4 days is just barely enough for all the sights and attractions Munich offers, but you can always come back for more.
Munich offers lots of accommodations for all budgets and so far we visited Munich twice and checked-in in two different hotels.
Our first hotel was Hotel Das Seidl and it was newly rebuild, in fact it opened its doors just few weeks before our arrival. The hotel was modern, clean and very affordable for its service – especially during the Oktoberfest. The connection to the Munich city center was easy with the local transport (direct S-Bahn to Marienplatz). It offers free WI-FI to its guests and parking – if you travel to Munich by your own car.
Our second hotel was Best Western Hotel The K, which was amazing. The rooms were modern and even though it was on the outskirts of Munich it was pretty close to Allianz Arena and Cavalluna park, and also not far from the S-Bahn station, taking you directly to the old city center and the Marienplatz. The price included reach self-service breakfast and a big private parking lot.

Public transport in Munich

The public transport in Munich is amazing. The city is well connected with all the areas, including smaller towns and villages further out. Everything runs fast and smooth and it is also cheap. We would go for a daily ticket – if you travel in a group to 5 people, your best choice is a group ticket. The best thing with having a daily ticket is to be able to use the complete range of local transportation (buses, metros, trains). The only thing you have to watch out for, is having the ticket for the right zones (Munich has three different zones) and to stamp it before using it for the very first time. The stamping machines stand on each station or are available on the bus/train.
