Hotels in Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe hotels, Canella Beach Hotel

You have all kinds of accommodations in the Caribbean island Guadeloupe – some look better than the others and some offer much more for their money. We staid 4 nights in the Canella Beach Hotel and because we got several questions about the hotel and accommodation in general, you can read all about our experience in this blog review.

Canella Beach Hotel location

The Canella Beach Hotel lies on the outskirt of the popular touristic town Le Gosier, but you still need just couple of minutes by foot to reach the first cafes, restaurants and shops. The town Le Gosier offers many hotels and the Canella Beach Hotel is actually the last one in a row, what makes it more peaceful than the other hotels there. The place is also great to experience all the best things to do in Guadeloupe.

Rooms in Canella Beach Hotel

All the rooms in the hotel are studios with kitchen, which offers enough equipment to prepare basic meals. You will also find a microwave in the kitchen and a small fridge with freezer compartment. What we really enjoyed is the fact, the kitchen was outside on a balcony, so the smell from the cooking staid outside and not in the room. And even though we were cooking, we still enjoyed being outside.

The rooms are big enough and have a sofa, which can be used as an additional bed. The furniture is Caribbean style. There’s a special room just for the toilet and we also liked the big shower.

The hotel has good free WI-FI connection and good working AC. Some rooms have ocean views and some have swimming pool views. We stayed in a room with the back view, meaning we watched other apartment buildings from the balcony, but we did not mind as it was not loud or disturbing.

Additional services at Canella Beach Hotel

We probably like best that we had the studio apartment, as we could save with preparing our meals by ourselves. But we also enjoyed all the additional services at the hotel – especially the hotel’s private beach with free use of shades and sunbeds, from where we watched sunsets every evening.

There was also a private watersport renting facility (additional cost) at the beach, offering kayaks, stand up paddle boards, ski-jets and seaplane panorama flights.

You can enjoy open-buffet breakfast at the beach restaurant, which was included in the room rate or use the restaurant for lunch or/and dinner.

The best way to explore the Guadeloupe Island is by car, so most visitors decide to rent one. The Canella Beach Hotel offers big secured free parking.

Even though the hotel has its own private beach, you can also spend your time at hotel’s swimming pool. The swimming pool is big enough and has a special area for kids too. The garden offers outdoor gym devices. But don’t just spend all your time at the pool, as Guadeloupe offers so many great things to do with kids.

You can also find a small shop with souvenirs and some fruit near the front desk.

The staff at Canella Beach Hotel

The Guadeloupe Island is a French island so not many people speak English there, so it was good to hear some English language at the front desk. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful – when we asked for a bigger kitchen knife to cut watermelon and pineapple, we got a brand new one directly to our room in minutes.

Prices at Canella Beach Hotel

We won’t lie, prices on the Guadeloupe island are not cheap, but comparing other hotels, their offer and guest reviews, we actually found that Canella Beach Hotel offers a lot for its money.

If you can afford a bit more during your Guadeloupe travel, I do believe you will not be sorry to book a room at the Canella Beach Hotel. Don’t accept high-end luxury, but for something like that you will need at least 150-200 EUR/night more. The Canella Beach hotel is perfect for everyone who values clean facilities and additional service no matter if you’ll be visiting the Guadeloupe as a couple or a family.

We stayed at the Canella Beach Hotel as part of our collaboration with Go4.global, but nevertheless, the hotel review was written according to our own opinion and no one had any influence on it.
