Ravenna is mostly known for its mosaics. In fact, Ravenna has some of world’s most beautiful mosaics and that is why the city was also declared as UNESCO world heritage site.

We visited Spilimbergo School of mosaics in June, when we got to know how mosaics are being made. Because of our new knowledge, we were even more impressed, when seeing all the mosaics in Ravenna.

The mosaics in Ravenna are amazing. If nowadays you need a week to make a small mosaic, you cannot even imagine, how long these mosaics in Ravenna were being made. The photos don’t do them justice!
